PH00130: PRELINKER NOT OUTPUTTING SYSOUT TO PDS WHEN USING OMVS OPTION

Obtain the fix for this APAR.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When running the Prelinker with the 'OMVS' option, an error is
  encountered when outputting so SYSOUT, when SYSOUT is defined as
  a partitioned dataset (PDS or PDSE).  Outtput to a sequential
  dataset works without issue.
  
  Outputting to a PDS/PDSE when NOOMVS is used works correctly.
  
  
  SEVERE ERROR EDC4000: Unable to open DD:SYSOUT.
  

Local fix

• Output to sequential dataset or use NOOMVS
  

Problem summary

  The format record specified on 'fopen' needs to match the one
  used to allocate the file for SYSOUT otherwise it will fail.
  

Problem conclusion

• In addition to record format F, EDCPRLK will allow FB and FBS
  but the record length need to be 80 as before.
  

Temporary fix

Comments

• EDCPRLK will be change to allow F,FB,FBS record format with
  length 80 under OMVS parameter.
