Error description

• PROBLEM DESC:
  1. Numerous "address family invalid" messages written to
        the ITM TEMS or OMEGAMON Agent RKLVLOG file.
    2. Elongated response times may be observed as a result
        of data retrieval delays and request retry processing.
    3. Attribute level help pop-up may display truncated help
        text when employing a large screen size; e.g. 62x160.
    4. Observed above the bar storage growth.
    5. Support required for new adopting applications.

  1. Processing for data requests submitted by the e3270ui
     cause numerous "address family invalid" messages to be
     written to the TEMS/Agent RKLVLOG file; albeit benign, of
     concern is the log file growth and potential side effects
  2. The data request (query) time-out settings were not being
     honored as expected by request retry processing.
  3. Attribute level help pop-up that might extend beyond
     column 80 might be incorrectly sized.
  4. Failure to release storage on request termination might
     cause above the bar storage growth.
  5. New adopting applications require updates/extensions.
  

Problem conclusion

• 1. Change data request processing to facilitate a reduction
     in the number of "address family invalid" messages
     written.
  2. Update request (query) retry processing so that time-out
     settings are honored.
  3. Update pop-up sizing logic.
  4. Ensure appropriate above the bar storage is released
     at request termination.
  5. Address updates/extensions required by new adopters.
