Error description

  • Tape_Drives.Address is represented as decimal instead of
hexadecimal addresses.  A conversion option is necessary so that
the attribute value can be referenced as hexadecimal.  Function
like RANGE for the field do not allow hexadecimal values to be
evaluated in a Tivoli Enterprise Portal Situation.

We opened this APAR with the Omegamon XE on z/OS Agent to start
the process to look for the correct architecture change to allow
the hexadecimal address to be used in a custom situation.

substitution includes variables that must be formatted in
hexadecimal, the values are actually substituted in
decimal.

Problem conclusion

  • The code was modified to correctly honor hexadecimal
formatting requests in a situation take action command when
variable substitution is used.
