OA19631: HOD UNABLE TO SAVE A MACRO WITH LARGE NAME USING JAVA 1.5 AND HIGHER

Obtain the fix for this APAR.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When trying to save a macro with a long name, the display window
  does not allow for the long name. The field for the name is
  covered by a scroll bar. This problem was fixed for users on
  java 1.4. Java 1.5 and high are different and a different fix
  is needed.
  

Local fix

• Use java 1.4 with the fix provided in HOD 906.

  *                      length, the scroll bar overlaps the     *
  *                      List component and you cannot see the   *
  *                      names of the macros.                    *

  The appearance of the scroll bar in the List component appears
  if the name is longer than the default length. The list area is
  no longer visible and the user cannot see the list of macro
  names. This is the default behaviour of Java's JList which HOD
  uses.
  

Problem conclusion

• The code was modified to disable the horizontal scroll bar
  from HOD which appears to overlap the list area. Even with no
  scroll bar the user can still see the names of the macros by
  selecting the macro and moving the cursor forward or backward.
