APAR status

Error description

  • If a user replies to/forwards a mail from a Windows 8 device
    (usually whose original subject contained special characters),
    the subject of the resultant mail may display incorrectly due to
     unexpected encoding formats sent by the Windows device. For
    example,
    
    1. The subject not be properly decoded, e.g. recipient may see:
    
    "RE:
    ??=?utf-8?B?4oKs4oKs4oKs4oKs4oKs4oKs4oKs=E2=82=AC=E2=82=AC=E2=82
    =AC?="
    
    Instead of expected:
    
    "RE: ????????????"
    
    (where ? is a special or non-ascii character)
    
    2. The subject may be truncated
    
    The Traveler server has been updated to handle the encoding
    methodolgy used by Windows 8 devices.
