APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • For IBM Verse clients (SyncML clients) events that have special
chars ':', ',', or ';' in TZID (timezone id field) do not appear
    on the Verse client.
The TZID field comes from the Domino document StartTimeZone
field, the ZN= part of that field.
A parse error can be seen in the client logs in TPRs.

Local fix

  • Work-around would be to change the Domino timezone field value
to a value that does not contain one of these special chars.
Particular value that is causing problem is
(UTC-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)

Problem summary

  • Timezone missing from calendar entries when the timezone
    contains a special character.

Problem conclusion

  • The IBM Traveler server was update to handle this scenario
    correctly.
