Error description

  • It is possible for customers running standalone Traveler servers
to have incorrect database schemas for their Traveler Derby
database.Since 9.0.1.15 we are checking on start up for primary
keys on all tables. If a table is missing a key, then Traveler
will automatically repair it. It is possible that a table is
missing a constraint that prevents the appropiate repair. This
APAR will add debug features to Traveler that will allow for
these constraints to be added via console.

Problem summary

  • This is a rare scenario where upgrading from a pre 9.0.0 server
to 9.0.1.15 and the server is a standalone environment that has
had multiple upgrades at 8.5.2 or 8.5.3 levels. In this case a
schema discrepency could happen that prevents a primary key from
    being added.

Problem conclusion

  • The IBM Traveler server was updated to handle this scenario
    correctly.
