APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Customer encountered a sql warning when connecting to DB2 on
AIX. The warning was logged as expected but prevent the
database schema from updating which is not the correct behavior.
This APAR will be used to change the logic to log the warning
but continue with the schema upgrade.

Local fix

  • Upgrading the DB2 JDBC driver use by the IBM Traveler server may
    resolve the warning.

Problem summary

  • Wanrings from the database server, though not common, are
expected in some instances and should not prevent the Traveler
server from functioning. In this case it prevented a schema
    update from being applied correctly.

Problem conclusion

  • The IBM Traveler server has been updated to log the warning but
continue processing as expected for a SQL Warning.
