LO88798: NOTES 9.0.1 FP5 IF2 / IF3 CRASH WHEN SAMETIME EMBEDDED CONNECT AND LOADING BUDDY LIST ON WINDOWS 10 ENTERPRISE 64 BIT BUILD 1024

APAR status

Error description

• The customer is making use of Lotus Notes 9.0.1 FP5 IF2 / 3 with
  ST Embedded on
  Windows 10 Enterprise 64 Bit Build 10240 with Citrix VDA 7.8.232
  Agent
  installed.
  After applying Microsoft Security Update KB 3147461 their Notes
  Clients will
  crash upon startup when Sametime Embedded is connecting and
  loading the buddy
  list. This is happening for all Notes Clients and can be
  reproduced with or
  without Citrix so it would appear to be not Citrix Specific.
  The customer also upgraded their Sametime Embedded Clients to
  the latest
  version sametime.embedded.addon.win32_20160315 2045 and the
  crashes still
  occur.
  
  The customer also have Windows 10 Enterprise 64 Bit build 1511
  machines and the
  crash cannot be reproduced on these machines.
  The Fatal stack generated is as follow(See below)
  
  We notice the mentioning of the MS .dll called SHFolder.dll in
  the fatal stack.
  Replacing this .dll from an un-patched machine on an affected
  workstation does
  not resolve the issue. The Notes Client will still crash.
  Uninstalling the Microsoft Patch does not resolve the problem.
  This fix can
  only be applied to Windows 10 pre 1511 builds.

  L2 installed the same test environment(OS , MS patches and
  Notes) and cannot
  reproduce this issue.
