Error description

  • In troubleshooting a stand alone environment which had
encountered database corruption, it was found that not all table
indexes were being regenerated by the Derby Defrag operation.
Some indexes are created by Derby in response to table or column
constraints. This was not the cause of the database corruption,
but has prevented a normal defrag from fully cleaning up after
    the issue was encountered.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Purpose of the Notes Traveler defrag feature is to reclaim
unused disk space and rebuild all indexes. Prior to this fix,
there were a number of indexes that were not rebuilt as part of
    the defrag function.

Problem conclusion

  • The Notes Traveler server has been updated to rebuild all
    indexes during the defrag operation.
