Error description

  • CONFIGURATION:
    Domino 9.0.1
    iNotes
    
    STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
    Use mime of customers message to send mail to an inotes user.
    (Note this is an encrypted message sent from a gmail /smtp user)
    Open the received message in iNotes
    
    ACTUAL RESULT: No file icon (paperclip) appears and the message
    cannot be viewed in iNotes, however it displays in the Notes
    client
    EXPECTED RESULT: Attachment displays in iNotes and attachment
    icon appears
    

Local fix

  • NOTE: If the same attachment is sent from Domino, there is no
    issue
    Use SMIME_Save_SignSeal_Attachments=1 in notes.ini with Format
    preference for incoming mail in person document set to Prefer
    Rich Text Notes and the attachment appear
    It was also observed that the attachment MIME content-type is
    application/pkcs7-mime however, saving this email as .eml and
    modifiying it in application/octet-stream, then the attachment
    appears.
    If the mail is from Domino content-type is already
    application/octet-stream and it is ok.
