Error description

  • Using SMTPMTA_SPACE_REPL_CHAR=. and SMTPMTA_STRIPADDRESS=1
together can alter the From address.

A mail is received with the following headers -
    From: usera@domain.com
    To: userb@domain.com
    Sender: userc@domain.com

If this mail is transferred via SMTP to another Domino server,
    the headers will change to:
    From: userc@domain.com
    To: userb@domain.com

There will be no reference to usera@domain.com in the received
    mail.

Local fix

  • 1. Removing either parameter will resolve the issue.
    2. Changing routing to NRPC between Domino servers will resolve
    the issue.
