Customer reported that on one Windows 2008 system, Lotus Traveler will not start. It begins the startup process then crashes. The same level of Traveler server will run on other Windows machines. This problem is only seen with Notes Traveler 220.127.116.11 and 18.104.22.168 levels of code. It is not seen in 22.214.171.124 or earlier releases and is already fixed in upcoming Traveler 9.0 release.
Customer reported that on some of their Windows systems the Traveler service would crash immediately after startup. Once hit it would happen regularly on that system, but only happened on a very small number of Windows servers.
An issue with memory management during startup was found. The problem would only cause a crash on a small number of random servers as in most cases the errant memory did not effect anything critical.
This fix will be included in Notes Traveler 126.96.36.199 IF1 and all later releases. See this technote for the latest maintenance information: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24019529
