Error description
When installing Lotus Notes 853 the installation overwrites the Outlook default Mailing. The customer used the following command => msiexec /i "Lotus Notes 8.5.3.msi" transforms="LotusNotesClntFP2_853_00.mst" SETMULTIUSER=1 MULTIUSERBASEDIR="!evUserPath!" MULTIUSERCOMMONDIR=%SystemDrive%\LotusCommon USENOTESFOREMAIL="" USENOTESFORCALENDAR="" USENOTESFORCONTACTS="" USENOTESFORICAL="" AllUsers=1 REBOOT="ReallySuppress" /l*v "%systemroot%\temp\install.log" /qn This did not work: Customer tried - instead of using USENOTESFOREMAIL="" use USENOTESFORMAIL=0 This also did not work: Asked the customer to run the following command line msiexec /i "Lotus Notes 8.5.3.msi" USENOTESFORMAIL="" This did not work for the customer. So we tested this here Notes is not setting itself as the default mail system but it also sets nothing as the default mail client You can manually change this by doing the following => For Windows xp - Go to Start > Control Panel > Internet Options > Programs tab > E-mail and set this to Outlook But the problem with this is the users do not have Admin rights to do this
