APAR status

Error description

  • Steps to reproduce:
    
    1. Install 8.5.3
    
    2. Install 8.5.3 FP2
    
    3. Apply JVM security patch located here:
    
    http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21617185
    
    4. Apply 8.5.3 FP3. Install will fail
    
    
    Logs show this:
    
    :
    CopyFile(C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\restore\PROGDIR\jvm\bin\new_plugin\npjp
    2.dll, C:\Lotus\Notes\jvm\bin\new_plugin\npjp2.dll) failed: 3
    
    FP3 install is failing on the uninstall of FP2, because
    attempting to uninstall FP2 fails with the same error
    

Local fix

  • None. Uninstalling FP2 fails, running the 8.5.3 repair fails
    with "Could not create Java Virtual Machine"
    
    Client must be completely reinstalled, without the JVM fix, to
    install FP3.
