Error description

  • - Related to: JCIK7PFGCT: Formula error occurs in iNotes
    when upgrading to
    Domino 8.5
(Which was fixed for the most common and recommended scenario,
    but this issue
    remains.)

As admin, register a new user with an R6.5.6 mail template
    (doesn't matter
whether mailfile is on old or current server version).

As R6.5.6 user, open mailfile, save mail prefs, send and receive
    mail.

As admin, create an R8.5.1 mail settings doc that applies
    attention indicators
(doesn't matter what values these have, or which HTA -- can do a
    How To Apply -
Set value and prevent changes for all fields).
Include settings in a policy, and apply policy to the R6.5.6
    user (this
scenario is based on the server having been upgraded before the
    mail template).
Upgrade the user's mailfile to R8.5.1.

    As user, open the mailfile.

Get: "Can't find view" error, and none of the mail frames get
    populated.
Mailfile displays as belonging to 'Anonymous', and no actions
    are available --
    no mail functionality is available.

    - Only happens on first mailfile open. Once the user closes out
    and reopens,
calendarprofile has fixed itself, and everything functions
    correctly.

(Problem is caused by a malformed $ToNames on calendarprofile --
    "ToNamesList
    := ;tmpMe :=...".  $ToNames didn't exist in R6.5.6; this is
    created correctly
when user re-saves mail prefs after upgrading to an R8.5.1
    template. But if
this item is created by a mail policy, instead, it's generated
    incorrectly, and
causes the error on first mailfile open.)

Local fix

  • Delete the $ToStuff field in both the colorprofile and
    calendarprofile
