APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Failed to login.  CLRFJ0010E: Notes initialization failed"
    after installing new Notes 8.5 client under Windows XP SP2.
    
    - Uninstalling and reinstalling does not correct the problem.
    - Basic Client Works.
    - Restarted Single Logon Service and no change.
    - Notes.ini reveals no double spaces in filepaths.
    - Re-ran Notes Client configuration without Domino, same issue
    

Local fix

  • This issue can occur if multiple nnotes.dll are on the machine.
    
    In this case, an additional occurrence of nnotes.dll was in the
    
    C:\Windows\System folder.  Renaming the file corrected the
    issue.
