Problem summary

  • USERS AFFECTED: All using LLC links.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
A delay is seen receiving frames on an LLC2 link. The delay is
    typically 61-62 seconds.

    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
If setting a certain timer (streams timeout) fails, then this
delay can occur because CommServer fails to quickly complete
work that it has outstanding. The result of setting the timer
was not checked, so the failure was not detected.

Problem conclusion

  • Code has been modified to handle this error case and ensure that
a fast timer is always available to complete outstanding work
    when the system is busy.
