APAR status

Error description

  • In WebSphere Cast Iron V6.3, when using LDAP
    authentication,users in the "viewer" group able to edit.
    

Local fix

  • Either do not use LDAP as an authentication method, or, verify
    that the LDAP users defined in the veiwer group are allowed to
    temporarily have this elevated privilege
    

Problem summary

  • Due to this implication of viewers being users when LDAP is
    enabled, viewers can do everything that normal users can do.
    Keeping this in mind, verify that your appliance viewers,
    under the "viewer" group, are trusted as users. Alternatively,
    disable LDAP authentication.
