LI77126: WHEN A VARIABLE USED IN DATA QUALITY ACTIVITY IS RENAMED VIA VARIABLES TAB IT CHANGES TO JOBINFO IN THE DQ ACTIVITY

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If a variable that is used by any of the Data Quality activities
  is renamed, it selects another variable after renaming.
  
  Steps to reproduce scenario:
  1. Drop a merge activity in an orchestration and configure the
  activity by selecting variables
  2. Select an activity other than the configured merge activity
  to rename the variables used by it.
  3. Go to variable tab.
  4. Change the variable names of those which are used in the
  merge activity.
  5. Check the configure panel of the merge activity and the
  variable initially selected has changed and another variable
  is shown selected.
  
  The issue is reproducible with all the Data Quality activities.
  

Local fix

• While rename the variable within a activity, don't select
  other activity during the operation.
  

Problem summary

• When a variable is renamed in the variable panel in any of the
  Data Quality activities (i.e: Filter and Profile, Lookup, Sort
  or Merge), that variable will not get renamed correctly, and the
  drop down list containing the variable will have wrong
  selection.
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem is fixed by adding a listener to the Data Quality
  activities which listens for variable renaming events, so that
  when a variable is renamed, any Data Quality activity which uses
  that variable will get refreshed.
  
  The fixed is targeted for WebSphere Cast Iron fix packs 6.1.0.15
  and 6.3.0.1
