LI77103: WEBSPHERE CAST IRON STUDIO FAILS TO PASS NTLM AUTHENTICATION

Error description

• When attempting to test an HTTP endpoint using NTLM
  authentication, Cast Iron Studio fails to pass NTLM
  authentication.
  In WebSphere Cast Iron Studio, the following error maybe
  observed:
  
  Studio was unable to connect with the given parameters. This may
  be due to the server's configuration and may require a
  specific HTTP method and/or server resourece.
  
  And after clicking "ok" without any change:
  Unable to connect to the endpoint. please check the endpoint's
  information and try again.
  
  The error is observed on Cast Iron V6.1.0.9 and V6.1.0.12
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• When attempting to test an HTTP endpoint using NTLM
  authentication, the authentication fails.
  The problem occurred as a result of a panel preferring
  Kerberos authentication methods over NTLM. This error has been
  corrected and when testing HTTP endpoints which require NTLM
  authentication, the correct authentication method is used.
  

Problem conclusion

• The problem was caused by a code change implemented in WebSphere
  Cast Iron V6.1.0.6.
  The problem has now been corrected and the fix will be delivered
  in WebSphere Cast Iron fixpack 6.1.0.15.
