Error description
Enablement of Workspaces on WebSphere Commerce may fail if a new Workspace is being created or an existing one is being updated. Following conditions must be satisfied for this to occur: - Database being used is Oracle - Oracle's Recycle Bin is enabled - One or more tables in schema corresponding to Workspace's "base" schema have been dropped - Oracle's Recycle Bin has not been "purged" since the last set of tables were dropped - Workspace enablement (creation or update) has been attempted - Oracle "ORA-00905 missing keyword" error appears in the Workspace enablement log
Local fix
Two workarounds are available: 1.a) Adjust the Workspace enablement task to only generate SQL statements, i.e., set the generateSQLStatementsOnly property to "true" 1.b) Run enablement and then edit the "Create_Workspaces_For_${schemaName}.sql.log" file generated under the instance's logs directory to remove all references to tables that reside in Oracle's Recycle Bin 1.c) Execute the generated file against the WebSphere Commerce database 2) Purge Oracle's Recycle Bin prior to Workspace enablement. Refer to Oracle documentation pertaining to Recycle Bin for more information.
Problem summary
USERS AFFECTED: All WebSphere Commerce users on an Oracle database with Recycle Bin enabled attempting Workspace enablement PROBLEM ABSTRACT: Tables in Oracle's Recycle Bin may cause enablement (creation or update) of Workspaces on WebSphere Commerce to fail BUSINESS IMPACT: Maintenance task timelines may be slightly hindered RECOMMENDATION: Follow suggestions provided in the "Workaround" section if immediate resolution is necessary
Problem conclusion
Tables in Oracle's Recycle Bin follow a specific naming pattern. Workspace enablement has been adjusted to disregard tables in the Workspace "base" schema that follow this naming pattern when the database being used by the WebSphere Commerce instance is Oracle. ------------------------------------------------------------- The latest available maintenance information can be obtained from the Recommended Fixes for WebSphere Commerce technote: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=3046&uid=swg21261296
