APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• For one C++ source file, compiilation hangs if using -O3 with
  the V11.1 compiler, compilation gets through in a few minutes
  using -O2 with V11.1 OR -O3 with V10.1 compiler.
  

Local fix

• Use -O2 with V11.1
  

Problem summary

• PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: infinite loop at compile time with -O3
  while refining control flow that contains unconditional
  branches to conditional branches.
  
  USERS AFFECTED: only affects unusual source files.
  

Problem conclusion

• There were a few uncaught cases where an infinite loop could
  happen at compile time.  These few cases are now caught.
