APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Application core dumps after compiler has been migrated
  from XL C/C++ Enterprise Edition for AIX, V8.0 to XL C/C++ for
  AIX, V9.0. The problem occurs during exception handling in
  the catch block.
  

Local fix

• Modify the catch block from:
  
  catch (SomeClass)
  
  to
  
  catch (SomeClass a)
  

Problem summary

• USER AFFECTED:
  Users using exception handling under very specific conditions,
  and
  possibly other scenarios where we could produce invalid
  codegen.
  
  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  Program crashes at runtime because invalid code was generated.
  

Problem conclusion

• The compiler was corrected so that valid code is produced.
