APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Out of memory exception occurs with optimization turned on in a
  64-bit mode.
  

Local fix

• Use GA or PTF1-PTF3 of the XL Fortran for AIX, V12.1 compiler.
  Alternatively, turn optimization off at compile time.
  

Problem summary

• After the Fortran fix for defect 356224.2 implemented in
  GA-PTF#3,
  FE will no longer generate stubs for procedures that don't have
  a explicit
  interface, instead these procedures are inlined. This test case
  has a
  few of such procedures. They all got inlined and produced a
  large control
  flow graph which made TOBEY to run out of memory during
  speculation.
  

Problem conclusion

• Catch the memory exception and skip speculation.
