Error description
When compiling an application with basic -O optimization, the compile time is significantly longer than without optimization. This APAR lowers the compile time in xlCcode for compilations that spend a lot of time in the internal .ct_search compiler routine.
Local fix
Do not compile with optimization.
Problem summary
USERS AFFECTED: Users compiling a large source file or program. PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The compile speed is very slow for -O2 and up compared to noopt.
Problem conclusion
Improved an optimization algorithm. Compile-time performance is now faster.
