Error description

  • C++ source fails to compile with the -qoptimize=3 and up due

1586-491 (U) COMPILER LIMIT EXCEEDED: Insufficient virtual
    storage

Problem summary

  • Users who have a large test case and who compile at -O3 might
    experience this issue.

The problem was that, the compiler optimizer was creating a lot
of internal temporaries which resulted in the 'Compiler limit
    exceeded' message.

Problem conclusion

  • The area of the compiler that causes this issue has been patched
to use a POP mechanism instead of using internal temporaries.
