Error description

  • If issuing the "db2licm -a" operation using a root-id on a
Linux IA64 platform, the operation might trap and produce a
    coredump file.
    .
The stack trace from the coredump file will show a problem in
the libdb2licm.so.1 library with the following call stack:
    .
    get_linux_node_id ()
    .
... or the call stack will show the following stack trace:
    .
    canon_str ()
    get_disk_serial_number ()
    get_linux_node_id ()
    gen_target_from_rom ()
    ifor_create_target_vector ()
    ifor_uuid_gen ()
    netls_create_job_id ()
    LicInitializeNetls ()
    NetlsRequestLicense ()
    LicGetAccessKey ()

Local fix

  • Create a blank nodelock file in the /opt/ibm/db2/V9.1/license
directory, and then append the last 4 lines from the license
file (example db2ese.lic) into the nodelock file. Then restart
    DB2.
