Error description
You might see an Out of Memory error or high memory use when the server starts or when the artifact index is rebuilt in IBM Process Center.
Local fix
Reduce the branch-context-max-cache-size (for example, 5). For more information about the branch cache, see "Using process instrumentation data for cache tuning" (https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSFPJS_8.6.0/com.ib m.wbpm.admin.doc/topics/perf_tuning_instrument_data.html).
Problem summary
When the server is started for the first time after you upgrade to IBM BPM V8.5.7, the new indexer tries to rebuild the whole index. In the process of rebuilding the index, the indexer covers every branch in Process Center, causing the branch cache to grow. PRODUCTS AFFECTED IBM Business Process Manager (BPM) IBM BPM Express
Problem conclusion
