Error description

  • In IBM Process Portal, when you close a coach (by completing it)
to return to the task list in the Work tab, or leave the coach
by clicking the Work tab while the coach is still open, the
amount of memory that the browser uses might increase. Over the
duration of a Process Portal session, this growth might
accumulate each time you return to the task list from a coach to
the point where the browser and the workstation that the
browser is running on becomes unresponsive.

Problem summary


    

  • When a coach is closed in Process Portal, memory objects used
for stream events might not be properly removed from memory,
depending on the garbage collection algorithm that the browser
uses.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • A fix is available for IBM BPM V8.0.1.3 that forces garbage
collection of the memory objects used for stream events.

On Fix Central (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral), search
for JR54010:

 1. Select IBM Business Process Manager with your edition from
the product selector, the installed version to the fix pack
level, and your platform, and then click Continue.
 2. Select APAR or SPR, enter JR54010, and click Continue.

When you download fix packages, ensure that you also download
the readme file for each fix. Review each readme file for
additional installation instructions and information about the
fix.
