APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • In the Assignments page of an activity , if you specify Assign
    To = Lane and User Distribution = Last User and interim fix
    JR52385 is installed, the activity might be assigned to the team
    associated to the lane rather than to the user who completed the
    last activity.

Local fix

  • You can prevent such tasks from being assigned to the team by
    setting the
    <user-distribution-last-user-enforce-team-membership> property
    to false in the 100Custom.xml file, like in the following
    example:

    <server>
     <bpd-engine>
      <user-distribution-last-user-enforce-team-membership>
       false
      </user-distribution-last-user-enforce-team-membership>
     </bpd-engine>
    </server>

    Note that this setting enables task assignments to users who do
    not belong to the assigned-to team.

Problem summary

  • When you specify Assign To = Lane and User Distribution = Last
    User, IBM BPM searches for the last activity in the lane that
    was completed and assigns the current activity to the user who
    completed the task for that activity. If interim fix JR52385 is
    installed, IBM BPM might conclude that this user does not belong
    to the assigned-to team although the user belongs to that team.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available for IBM BPM V8.5.0.1 that prevents such tasks
    from being assigned to the team and correctly assigns them to
    the user who completed the last activity.
