Error description

  • This issue occurs when you modeled a human service in a toolkit
that is exposed as startable service to a given user group that
has members, you added the toolkit as a dependency of your
process application, changed the exposed to participant group of
the human service to an empty group, such as a participant group
that doesn't have members, created a snapshot of the toolkit,
and updated the toolkit dependency in your process application.
You notice that the human service is still exposed in IBM
Process Portal, but when you try to start it you receive an
exception saying that you are not authorized to start the
service. You expect the service to no longer be visible in
Process Portal after you change the toolkit dependency, but it
    is still there.

Local fix

  • Instead of updating the toolkit dependency, you can remove the
toolkit dependency and add it again pointing to the new
snapshot. In this case, the human service is not exposed in
    Process Portal, as expected.

Problem summary

  • When a toolkit dependency is updated, the user group references
of existing favorites are sometimes not refreshed.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available for IBM BPM V8.0.1.3, that ensures that user
group references of existing favorites are renewed when a
    toolkit dependency is updated.
