APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When you use numerous timer events in your business processes,
you might see lock contentions in the database on
LSW_EM_TASK_KEYWORDS table and might notice that event manager
    queries are running slowly.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • When you create timer tasks, event records are inserted into the
LSW_EM_TASK_KEYWORDS table. Some of the event records are
distinct; others have the same value for a set of events, but
there is one value that is inserted for every timer event:
    bpd.group.BPDIntermediateTimerEvent. These event records can
take up to a third of the total records of the table, which can
lead to contention during insert and delete operations.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available for IBM BPM V8.5.5.0 that prevents the
    bpd.group.BPDIntermediateTimerEvent keyword from being created.
