APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When you run the BPMSnapshotCleanup command with
-ignoreDependency = true, toolkits that have other toolkits and
process apps depending on them can be deleted without warning.
As a result, toolkit dependencies become broken, snapshot menu
items in IBM Process Center are missing, and process
applications cannot be archived and deleted, among other issues.
Essentially, IBM Business Process Manager (BPM) becomes
    unusable.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Using the BPMSnapshotCleanup command to remove un-named and
archived snapshots from Process Center might corrupt the
database when the ignoreDependencies parameter is set to true.
This optional parameter specifies whether to delete the snapshot
even if other process applications or toolkits depend on it. By
default the ignoreDependencies parameter is set to false.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available that enforces dependency checking when
removing snapshots, even if the ignoredependency parameter is
specified. As a result, snapshots are not deleted if there are
    dependencies on the snapshot.
