Portal performs slowly.

Problem summary


    

  • The Safari browser on iOS7 devices prevents the stylesheet (css)
and image files from being loaded while a long-polling request
(issued by the IBM BPM JavaScript code running in the browser to
poll for task notifications) is in progress, causing Process
Portal pages to load more slowly.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • A fix is available for IBM BPM V8.5.5.0 that detects the Safari
browser and replaces long polling with more frequent polling,
minimizing the performance impact that results from the
browser's behavior.

On Fix Central (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral), search

1. Select IBM Business Process Manager with your edition from
the product selector, the installed version to the fix pack
level, and your platform, and then click Continue.
2. Select APAR or SPR, enter JR51918, and click Continue.
