APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When you use the getAllUsers() JavaScript API, the returned list
contains the value NULL for invalid user. A user with a given
name is invalid if the same user name exists more than once in
the WebSphere Application Server user registry. An invalid user
cannot log in to IBM Business Process Manager (BPM) and should
not be returned in a JavaScript API call response.

Local fix

  • Use custom code to check the list that the getAllUsers()
JavaScript API call returned for NULL values and ignore them
    during subsequent processing.

Problem summary

  • If a user name is used more than once to define distinct users
in the WebSphere Application Server user registry, IBM BPM
considers the corresponding users invalid and consistently
ignores them. However, calling the getAllUsers() JavaScript API
does not ignore such users because it returns for a NULL value
    each invalid user.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is/will be available for IBM BPM V8.0.1.2 that avoids
inserting NULL values into the results list of the getAllUsers()
    JavaScript API call.
