  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If you are not logged in and you go to an internal IBM Process
Portal page that is in a /portal servlet, you are redirected to
the landing page of Process Portal instead of the page you
wanted. This issue does not occur if you are logged in or go to
an internal page that is in a /ProcessPortal servlet.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • When you are not signed in, IBM WebSphere Application Server
creates a cookie that is used to redirect you to the internal
page. The origin of the cookie depends on the servlet that the
internal page belongs to, /portal or /ProcessPortal. Each
servlet may access only the cookie it owns. The legacy (/portal)
login page redirects you to the new login page
(/ProcessPortal), which cannot read the legacy redirecting
cookie. When you try to go to an internal page in the legacy
servlet and are not logged in, the new login page does not know
where to redirect you so the new login page sends you to the
    default landing page.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix for IBM BPM V8.5.5.0 is available that fixes Process
Portal's redirection procedure so that it links you to an
internal document correctly when you are not logged in.
