JR51453: IBM BPM UPGRADE FROM V8.0.1.2 TO V8.0.1.3 FAILS

Error description

  • Upgrading from IBM Business Process Manager (BPM) V8.0.1.2 to
    IBM BPM V8.0.1.3 failes. The upgradeProcessData.sh script
    encounters the following error:
    
    com.lombardisoftware.tools.dbupgrade.UpgradeDatabase-
    The configured Process Server database does not
    appear to be a Teamworks Process Server database.
    java.lang.RuntimeException: The configured Process Server
    database does
    not appear to be a Teamworks Process Server database.
    

Local fix

  • Workaround: Manually edit resource.xml to add the missing value
    property.

    This issue occurs when the value(value=""') for the schema in
    the resource.xml is removed.
    

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available for IBM BPM V8.0.1.3 that allows there to
    be no value for the schema in the resouce.xml.
    
    On Fix Central (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral), search
    for JR51453:
    
    1. Select IBM Business Process Manager with your edition from
    the product selector, the installed version to the fix pack
    level, and your platform, and then click Continue
    2. Select APAR or SPR, enter JR51453, and click Continue.
    
    When you download fix packages, also download the readme file
    for each fix. Review each readme file for additional
    installation instructions and information about the fix.
