JR51450: AN SQL QUERY FOR DURABLE MESSAGES THAT EXECUTES FREQUENTLY USES LITERALS INSTEAD OF PARAMETER MARKERS

Error description

  • An SQL query for durable messages that executes frequently uses
literals instead of parameter markers. However, using literals
increases the shared memory and degrades performance.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • This performance issue is caused by frequent executions of an
SQL statement that has different arguments. Because the
arguments are passed as literals into the query, the database
    statement cache grows.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available for IBM BPM V8.0.1.1 that uses parameter
markers instead of literals in a query for durable messages. For
the database manager, an SQL query with the number of parameter
markers is the same regardless of the values and can be reused
by the optimizer despite the individual literals.
