APAR status

Error description

  • To launch two new process instances, if you click a process link
    from the launchable process list twice in rapid succession, the
    task completion view, which should display the coach for a task
    from one of the launched process instances, might display
    "Loading..." instead. The coach is never displayed.

Local fix

  • Click the Work tab and manually select the newly created task
    that you want to work on.
    

Problem summary

  • In the task completion widget code, a callback function that
    handles switching the widget to display the coach for the
    current task being worked on does not check whether the task
    currently being displayed must be unloaded from the widget
    before the switch occurs.  Launching multiple instances in rapid
     succession could cause the callback function to erroneously
    unload the first instance's task in response to the second
    instance's task being ready for display, which is before the
    first task can be displayed and completed by the user, leaving
    the widget in a state where it would not be able to display
    either task.
    

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available for IBM BPM V8.5.0.1 that fixes the callback
    function logic so that it unloads only the current task and only
     when you have completed that task. Then the next task is
    displayed, which is queued internally while the current task is
    being worked on.
    
    On Fix Central (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral), search
    for JR51310:
    
    1. Select IBM Business Process Manager with your edition from
    the product selector, the installed version to the fix pack
    level, and your platform, and then click Continue.
    2. Select APAR or SPR, enter JR51310, and click Continue.
    
    When you download fix packages, ensure that you also download
    the readme file for each fix. Review each readme file for
    additional installation instructions and information about the
    fix.
