Error description
When a user task is created, the potential owners might receive an email with details about that user task. This email might contain the task's subject or the user task's service implementation. It does not contain the name of the user task as it is modeled in the business process definition (BPD). When the email notification is delivered, the activity name should be the user task's name; however, it is the name of the service implementation. The actName value from the email templates contains the name of the service that implements the task instead of the name of the task itself.

Problem conclusion
A fix is available for IBM BPM V8.5.0.1 that introduces the new replacement variable ?userTaskName? to also allow you to specify the user task's name as part of the email template. During the email notification, the variable is replaced by the name of the user task. On Fix Central (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral), search for JR51057: 1. Select IBM Business Process Manager with your edition from the product selector, the installed version to the fix pack level, and your platform, and then click Continue. 2. Select APAR or SPR, enter JR51057, and click Continue. When you download fix packages, ensure that you also download the readme file for each fix. Review each readme file for additional installation instructions and information about the fix. To use the new replacement variable, complete the following steps: 1. In 100Custom.xml and 99Local.xml, select the process variable in server > email > mail-template. 2. If the process variable is unchanged, its value is "externalmailprocesslink_{0}.html". Complete the following steps: a. Extract the files "externalmailprocesslink_*.html" from "<BPM_HOME>/BPM/Lombardi/process-server/lib/ procsrv_resources.jar" b. Edit those files by adding "{userTaskName}" wherever appropriate. For example, replace "{actName}" with "{userTaskName}". c. Save those files in "<BPM_HOME>/BPM/Lombardi/process-server/lib/ procsrv_resources.jar". 3. If the process variable was changed, look for the file that is specified in the process variable and edit the file by following the instructions in step 2 of this procedure.
