APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Running  services in the Service Debugger might cause an
  exception if you try to show the variable value in the Variables
  tab in the lower right of the Process Designer.
  The error might occur if you set the property httpProtocolOnly
  to true to configure Process Designer to use the HTTP or HTTPS
  protocol instead of RMI with JMS.
  
  Note that both JR50590 and JR50899 are require to get this
  functionality working.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• A service might not have a task instance associated with it. The
  code still tries to access the task instance and that causes the
  exception to occur.
  

Problem conclusion

• A fix is available for IBM BPM 8.5.0.1 that prevents the code
  from trying to access the task instance if no task instance has
  been associated with the service.
  
  
  On Fix Central (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral), search
  for JR50899:
  
  1. Select IBM Business Process Manager with your edition from
    the product selector, the installed version to the fix pack
    level, and your platform, and then click Continue.
  
  2. Select APAR or SPR, enter JR50899, and click Continue.
  
  When you download fix packages, ensure that you also download
  the readme file for each fix. Review each readme file for
  additional installation instructions and information about the
  fix.
