APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If you run the BPMDeleteSnapshot command, orphaned tasks are
created if tasks that refer to the snapshot being deleted belong
to BPD instances that refer to another snapshot as well. It
appears as if entries in the corresponding LSW_TASK table
remain, although they refer to a deleted snapshot. When process
instances are migrated to a new snapshot, tasks that no longer
appear in the new process model are not migrated to the new
snapshot and continue to refer to the old snapshot.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available for IBM BPM that introduces enhanced
consistency checks and returns the following error message to
prevent the BPMDeleteSnapshot command from deleting the snapshot
that tasks refer to when those tasks have process instances that
have been migrated to another snapshot.
