APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If you run the BPMDeleteSnapshot command, orphaned stand-alone
tasks remain in the IBM Business Process Manager (BPM) database.
It appears as if entries in the LSW_TASK table remain although
they belong to a deleted snapshot and you expect the existence
of stand-alone tasks to prevent the snapshot from being deleted.
Stand-alone tasks are created if an exposed human service is
started by using the REST API bpm/wle/v1/service/{instanceId}.

Problem summary

  • No additional information is available.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is/will be available for IBM BPM that introduces enhanced
consistency checks for the BPMDeleteSnapshot command and returns
the following error message if there are stand-alone tasks in
    the database:

You cannot delete a snapshot that has running stand-alone task
instances. For more information, search for "BPMDeleteSnapshot"
    in the documentation.

In addition to this interim fix, install the other interim fixes
that are required for the BPMDeleteSnapshot and
BPMSnapshotCleanup commands, which are listed in "Issues with
BPMDeleteSnapshot and BPMSnapshotCleanup commands in IBM
    Business Process Manager (BPM)"
