Error description

• If you use IBM DB2, a deadlock might occur during the DB2 index
  scan of the LSW_BPD_INSTANCE_VARIABLES table if the access path
  of the DB2 optimizer has become stale and must be refreshed by
  running RUNSTATS.
  

Local fix

• Define the LSW_BPD_INSTANCE_VARIABLES table to be VOLATILE to
  reduce update performance and run RUNSTATS once a day.

• A fix is available for IBM BPM V8.0.1.2  that reduces the
  probability of a deadlock by sorting the alias names of the
  business data so that DB2 always accesses the rows of this table
  in the same sequence. The fix also detects and handles the
  deadlock properly.
