Error description

  • When you invoke a service by using executeServiceByName and you
    get an error page, the stack traces are shown in the HTML source
     code.  The end user does not need to see the stack traces,
    which contain internal implementation details.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • It is possible for end users to invoke executeServiceByName in
    ways that result in the error page being shown with the stack
    traces in the HTML source code.  These stack traces could
    contain fragments of back-end code and structure, which is
    considered a security risk.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Fixes for IBM BPM 7.5.1.0, 8.0.1.2, and 8.5.0.1 are available,
    which removes
    stack traces from the error page for executeServiceByName.
    
    On Fix Central (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral), search
    for JR50475:
    1. Select IBM Business Process Manager with your edition from
    the product selector, the installed version to the fix pack
    level, and your platform, and then click Continue.
    2. Select APAR or SPR, enter JR50475, and click Continue.
    
    When you download fix packages, ensure that you also download
    the readme file for each fix. Review each readme file for
    additional installation instructions and information about the
    fix.
