Error description

  • If you're migrating to IBM BPM V8.5.0.1 and customized
    100Custom.xml in your source environment, the merge and match
    attributes are missing from the merged 100SourceCustomMerged.xml
     file in the extracted snapshot when you run the
    BPMExtractSourceInformation command. As a result, you might see
    either or both of the following issues:

    " Email properties (<smtp-server merge="replace">) in the
    101CustomMigrated.xml file doesn't take effect after migration.
    Therefore, the default smtp server is used in the migrated
    environment.
    " A Teamworks application could not start after migration. You
    see the following exception in the server log file:
    "
    com.lombardisoftware.core.TeamWorksException: element
    "web-messaging-push" occurs more than once. (XMLFieldDesciptor:
    webMessagingPush AS web-messaging-push)

Local fix

  • For example, add "merge" in the 101CustomMigtrated.xml file by
    changing <smtp-server> from

    <email>
          <smtp-server>smtp.copel.nt</smtp-server>
       </email>

    to
     <email merge="mergeChildren">
        <smtp-server merge="replace">smtp.copel.nt</smtp-server>

     </email>

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Email properties (<smtp-server>) are *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    Email properties (<smtp-server>) are not fully migrated
    because the migration process ignores properties that are
    marked &#162;&#226;&#130;&#172; &#147;merge &#162;&#226;&#130;&#172; &#189;, such as the property in the followi
    example:
    <smtp-server merge="replace">smtp.copel.nt</smtp-server>

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available for IBM BPM V8.5.0.1 that ensures the
    migration code handles those properties mark as  &#162;&#226;&#130;&#172; &#156;merge &#162;&#226;&#130;
