Error description

  • In the IBM Process Portal notification application, CometD
channel objects might not be properly cleaned up when they are
no longer needed. As a result, the LocalSession object continues
to grow in heap memory and, eventually, you see an
out-of-memory condition in the Java Virtual Machine where the
    application is deployed.

The following heap dump example illustrates the issue:

Local fix

  • Important: Performing the following steps disables collaboration
in Process Portal in addition to automatically refreshing the
task list in the Work tab.

    1. Disable the server-generated notification HTTP traffic by
    changing <web-messaging-push enabled="true"> to
    <web-messaging-push enabled="false"> in the 100Custom.xml file.
    2. Disable the client-generated subscription HTTP traffic (POST
requests), by applying interim fix JR48704. For more
information, see JR48704: DELAYS OCCUR WHILE LOGGING INTO IBM
PROCESS PORTAL BECAUSE COMETD POST SUBSCRIPTIONS ARE LARGE at
    http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg1JR48704.
