JR49330: FILES STAY IN TEMP FOLDER AFTER YOU USE BPMINSTALLOFFLINEPACKAGE COMMAND TO DEPLOY AN INSTALLATION PACKAGE TO PROCESS SERVER

Error description

  • A temporary directory on Process Server becomes full because
    the extracted process application files remain inside the
    local file system after the offline installation completes.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The contents of the offline             *
    *                      installation package are extracted to   *
    *                      the temporary folder and remain on      *
    *                      the file system.                        *
    *                      On a Linux machine, the temporary       *
    *                      folder is '/tmp'.                       *
    *                      On a Windows machine, the temporary     *
    *                      folder is the same as the defined       *
    *                      %TEMP% system variable.                 *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When you use the BPMInstallOfflinePackage command to install
    an offline installation package of a process application, you
    see a number of files in the temporary folder.
    

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available for IBM BPM V7.5.1.2, V8.0.1.2, V8.5.0.1 that
    deletes the extracted files in the temporary folder after the
    BPMInstallOfflinePackage command completes.
    
    On Fix Central (http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral), search
    for JR49330:
    
    1. Select IBM Business Process Manager with your edition from
    the product selector, the installed version to the fix pack
    level, and your platform, and then click Continue.
    2. Select APAR or SPR, enter JR49330, and click Continue.
    
    When you download fix packages, ensure that you also download
    the readme file for each fix. Review each readme file for
    additional installation instructions and information about the
    fix.
    

Temporary fix

  • Stop IBM Process Server, and delete the files from the
    temporary folder manually or by using a scheduled task.
