APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The web module context root is not appended to generated URLs
    when you configure a BPMURL object with url attribute.

Local fix

  • You can configure BPMURL objects to refer to BPMVirtualHostInfo
    objects that contain protocol, host, port, and URI prefix in
    dedicated attributes.

Problem summary

  • IBM BPM V8.5.0.1 introduced a framework to allow you to
    customize the way URLs are generated. Multiple options exist to
    calculate the following fields of a URL:
    - protocol
    - host
    - port
    - context root (URI) prefix

    The simplest approach is to specify all of these fields in one
    string in URL format and set it as the value of the url
    attribute of a BPMURL object. However, the actual context root
    of the target web module is not appended to that string;
    therefore, an incomplete URL is generated for a scenario when
    there is url attribute.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available for IBM BPM V8.5.0.1 that ensures that the
    context root of the web module is appended to generated URLs
    when the url attribute of BPMURL objects is configured.

    With the fix applied, a BPMURL object that is represented as

    <bpmurl xmi:id="BPMURL_1394800768194"
    url="https://www.example.com/bpm" scenario=" EXTERNAL_CLIENT"/>

    in

    <DMGR_PROFILE_ROOT>/config/cells/<CELLNAME>/cell-bpm.xml

    will create the following URL to Process Portal:

    https://www.example.com/bpm/ProcessPortal
